Kuih Lapis

This Indonesian layer cake (kuih lapis) was hand carried from Indonesia by a friend. A bit oily but very nice.

Kuih lapis is a Dutch-Indonesian layered cake. It was developed during colonial times in the Dutch East Indies and may have been based on Dutch cake recipes using local ingredients.

Today I had lunch at "Lou Wong", a famous shop for Bean Sprout chicken.

Phone spoilt



My Nokia N95 that I have used for 5 years is spoilt. Most of the pictures I post here are taken by that phone.

Hopefully I can get it fixed as I hate to change phones. Friends asked me to get a Blackberry, but I have decided if I cannot get my N95 fixed I will buy back the same phone. I can sms and do things on my N95 with my eyes closed, but with the Blackberry I have to slowly poke here and there and it takes 3 times longer for me to send a simple sms.

4th Uncle's CNY bash

My uncle had his CNY bash at Rasa Sayang Restaurant in Crystal Crown Hotel



The guy in the blue shirt is Soon Kor (founder of Rasa Sayang chain and super cook).



This dish is superb. It is called 盆菜。It cost RM388 for this dish. During CNY eve dinner we had it for family reunion dinner but our version didn't taste nice, but this was simply superb.
