Citic Plaza, Guangzhou

The Malaysian Consulate is on the 19th floor.

My office is on the 22nd floor. At least if anything happens, all I need is to go down 3 floors to get help :-).

Drinking tea in Beijing (3)

Look at this tea leaf.

3-in-1 (top layer is chrysanthemum - lily - ?green tea. They must have tied it together!

Drinking tea in Beijing (2)

Pic: The smaller cup represents earth, while the longer cup represents heaven.

Pic: Note the cups come either in porcelain or clay

The tea is poured into the longer cup (heaven) and covered with the small cup (earth) and flipped over... so you end up drinking tea from heaven

Lift the linger cup and rolled it in your palms to stimulate blood flow through the body.

Then roll it on your face...to enhance your complexion

Then skim it around the eye socket to enhance blood flow...

Then finally you drink the tea...
Guys have to hold the cup as such whereby the bottom three fingers support the base (3 dragons supporting the ceiling).

For women, you are meant to hold it as such and it represents a sort of flower.

Eating Steamboat in Tianjin

Pic: In China cucumber is a common dish and prepared in many ways. Here it is dipped in a sauce. Other places it is slightly pan fried.

Pic: The temperature outside was minus 6 degrees so it was good to have hot hot steamboat. The right side is a hot soup base. I normally prefer the spicy soup but here the clear soup is very nice as in Malaysia it is just a soup of chicken stock but here it is boiled fragrantly with many Chinese herbs.
