Concept Cafe

I came across a concept cafe called TRUE at Siam Paragon.

As usual it had internet, books and magazines, .....

but it also has a big huge screen, and each table has a fish bowl kind of light above..

Coke Zero

I have never seen this version of Coke in Malaysia, Singapore, HK, China, Oz or NZ yet. But in Thailand there is the normal Coke, Diet Coke and Coke Zero (no sugar).

Unlike Diet Coke which I think taste horrible, Coke Zero is actually nice and taste like Coke.

Pink Cabs

The color of the cabs here are rather unique in Bangkok - pinkish purple.

Not exactly my fancy plus it is jam to go anywhere.

Sunday lunch at Siam Paragon Foodcourt

Thai Fried Koay Teow - a bit sweet

Thai Wanton Mee - really yummy!
Duck noodles - a bit spicy

Thai BBQ pork- Simply the best. Taste better than Chinese BBQ pork. They grill it then deep fry it. Has black pepper seasoning. This is the best pork I have ever tried in my life thus far.

Merill Lynch

I was reading the Straits Times (Wed) that Merill Lynch was laying off many staff at their Raffles office as a result of the financial crisis.

I was at HarbourFront and saw the sign to probably their new office.

It looks very new but sealed off. Probably have not moved in yet.

The Singapore govt backed all deposits till Dec 2010. The Presdient of Singapore as well as all 75 elected-MPs have approved this move with a  $150 billion backing. At present the combined reserves of Tamasek, Government Investment Corporation and Monetary Authority of Singapore are totaled at US$300 billion. Wow! Looks like only yellow skin people can save money. Just look at who has all the reserves - China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan!

My favorite sushi Chef

Sushi actually originated in Vancouver and then it spread to Japan. Yes it originated not in Japan!

Thought this was rather funny!

Cateye earrings!

I was shopping around for a wedding present in Beijing and was looking for Mikimoto earrings, but I cam across an Italian jeweler, Eva.

I bought this pair of beautiful pink cateye earrings. (My phone camera is not that good, hence it doesn't appear as beautiful here).

My new chain

I walked past this shop in China World Tower and came across a shop called DK selling accessories. It was a Danish brand.

I bought this chain as the handiwork was really intricate and thought it looks good on me.

The last chain I had was 7-8 years ago. I was jogging around my home and suddenly a motorbike came from behind and snatched it from my neck. Fortunately the chain gave way, if not it would have probably slit my throat.

Care For Children - Village Fete (5):A dying art

A master making figurines from flour. But the sad thing was he was there alone with no pupils or disciples with him.

Now with modern toys I guess there is no demand for these ancient toys but I guess we need to preserve this ancient art for heritage sake.
