Hotel at Tai Lake

This hotel is being built besides Tai Lake at Huzhou by a guy from Wenzhou who obviously has some backing to do it. It is 120m tall and from the higher rooms you supposedly can see Wuxi on the left and Suzhou clearly on the right.

The Shangri-La group has over 70 hotels in China and counting, and it is a tribute to their visionary leader Robert Kuok.

I read a book called Asian Godfathers. I read that early days Li Ka Shing had the backing of HSBC. Robert Kuok had the backing of Bangkok Bank etc. The bankers and suppliers all knew which horse to back .

I am grateful to the Lord that I had some bank loans and parents’ loans to see me through tough times to get into China after losing heavily (RM1m on products, shop, registration work in China/Taiwan) on the initial Fussy Eaters project. Then there is Mr.Hsieh from Interpharm and Mr.Lim from Asiana who supported me through thick and thin. Business needs a long term view for all parties benefit.
