Vitamin K2 more important than calcium in lowering risk of fractures

Japanese scientists studied the link between hip fractures and calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D.

They found that there was an association between intake of magnesium, vitamin D, and vitamin K and reduced hip fracture in both men and women, and calcium in women.

However, the strongest association between nutrient intake and reduced risk of hip fracture occurred in subjects with the highest intake of vitamin K2 in both men and women.

According to the scientists, "Since regions which consumed a lot of vitamin K, especially vitamin K2, showed a low incidence of hip fracture, we considered that vitamin K intake of over 300 mcg/day would be helpful to reduce the incidence of hip fracture.”

Otaku

"Otaku" is a term given to people who are crazy about anime. In this exhibition, the fans dress up as their anime hero. They really take all the effort to bring the animation 'alive'.

Anime was seen as a cult before, but it has now become a mainstream following.

Below is a guy dressed up as a Japanese super-hero; Yes it is a real person and the photo was taken with my hand-phone :-).

At Cartoon/animation exhibition

I went to an animation exhibition to look for animators for Fussy Eaters & Friends.

We found 2 college girls displaying and selling their art works and we feel we want them to draw for us, but I won't post them on the blog for confidential reasons.

Hokkien Mee 福建面

Only in Klang Valley (Malaysia) can you get this type of Hokkien mee. The ones in other parts of Malaysia are just not as nice.

This is a shop in Paramount, Petaling Jaya famous for Hokkien mee (福建面).

It is cooked in charcoal heat to get the best aroma.

This is the mee. You cannot even get it in Fujian province (福建省).
