Innovation with ice

This is an ice cubicle from Japan that I saw in Taiwan.

You fill it with water through the small hole.

When it is frozen, you get a round-ball shaped ice. The round shape has a greater surface area than a cube shaped ice, and hence it gets the drinks cold faster.

The bartender shaving off the rough edges of the ice with a knife.

Ready to serve ;-)
